Summary

The fight continues in the sewers where Kid and Black Star carry on the chase. As they arrive at the chamber of the Kishin, all of them(except Black Star due to his terrible 6th sense and intelligence) faced terrible hallucinations. Eventually, they were able to steer away from being hallucinated. As Black Star tried to stop Elka from giving the black blood to Kishin, his focus turned on his 6th sense and he sliced the statue of the god instead.

Meanwhile, Stein enters a deadlock with Medusa. As Medusa contemplated victory, she left an opening and Stein killed her in a split second. Medusa however wasn’t fully dead and she bites into Stein, possibly infecting him so he’ll become evil? Maybe.

The black blood is injected and the Kishin awakes. However, even without a fight as all attacks made against him were useless, Kishin is able to knock out all the young Meisters and the Weapons, leaving only Shinigami behind.

A spectacular fight occurs, however, due to the power of Kishin and Shinigami’s limited movement, Kishin manages to escape. Meanwhile, Shinigami summons the Death Scythe from throughout the land.

My thoughts

The last 3 episodes were pretty entertaining. Honestly, I didn’t think Kishin would awaken so quickly. I thought he would struggle and die or something. Anyway, the fight scenes remind me of some exaggerated street fighter show, especially Kishin. Overall, the fight animation was amazing, especially the red runes surrounding Kishin.

Character wise, we still didn’t get to see whats behind Shinigami’s mask. Behind Kishin’s one isn’t a terribly looking young man though. I always thought he covered his face because he had a deformed look or something. I think the Meisters need to buck up too. They are too weak and victory seems to be far away. I think they may start their real extra extra tough training soon. I just hope its not the get defeated->train->win->get defeated->train… cycle. Girls on the other hand: Blair didn’t have enough screen time. Nobody really showed what happened to the Mizune family. This just makes me ache more for the next episode.

Black Star can really be quite cool sometimes. I like the way he shouts. Its so full of… something that I can’t describe. Anyone notice that? Like the taunts your toon does while playing with a KOF character in the arcade. Fights should be filled with taunts and shouts and Black Star does just that. Shouts like ‘Mada mada—-!!’

Reminds me of a touch skill in guild wars.

Summary

Medusa’s gang continues to advance to race to the Demon God, with Black Star and Death the Kid tailing behind. Setting up little bombs against Kid, the absolute lack of symmetry of the bombs’ arrangement disgusted Kid and make him hate himself to the core, as usual. Thankfully, Patty with her unexpected way of motivation kicked Kid out of his senses and he used the bombs to accelerate himself instead. Meanwhile, the fight between Maka and Chrona ensues.

As both parties are indestructible, they constantly bashed each other, without a sign of a decided victor. Maka seemed to have the upperhand however. Apparently, the Imp has removed Maka’s sense of fear and she is over powered by madness. Soul constantly stays within the conscious zone, almost being eaten up by the madness.

It wasn’t long before Maka realised that she was out of control though as she regained consciousness within her subconscious. Being able to feel different souls, she moves on to find Chrona in her little land of her own, her soul.

Chrona’s subconscious was like a beach, without a sea. She drew a line around herself to keep herself safe. With nothing to do, her subconscious, similar to ID Sojourner, appears and speaks to her, asking her questions. However, she passes all the questions due to fear. She doesn’t know how to answer them.

The scene then switches to a bitch fight between Blair and the Mizune family, ending as a one sided battle. Things don’t end so easily though. The Mizune family then fuse to form… a hot babe. WOOTz. Blair changes to human form too, AWESOME! Blair doesn’t lose in terms of looks however and I will support Blair forever!!! Ahem. Ignore my rant. The focus then moves onto Medusa and friends.

Thrash talking continues and it is revealed that Medusa doesn’t need Chrona anymore. She treats her as garbage, enraging the fatherly side of Death Scythe. Death Scythe confronts Medusa, without any words prepared though. As he was blasted away, showing the weak side of him, he burst into tears. Stein then says what was in Death Scythe’s head. Stein was a scientist, but he was one with morals.

Back to Chrona, after 41 questions, she cries, questioning herself why she could answer Maka and not her own shadow. =(  It was so sad… until Maka comes in. MAKA IS SOOO CUTEEEEE!! (The first thing she says is “Rawr!”) Erasing her safety zone line, Maka made Chrona turn mad.

Of course, Maka must get out of her madness as she swims out of the subconscious area. Soul, in his desperation to help Maka breaks free of the shadow’s grasps and pulls Maka out into consciousness. The blood in Chrona’s body produced constant spikes but Maka puts Soul down and advances. As expected, the spikes didn’t hurt Maka, besides some cosmetic injury. Hugging Chrona, Maka turned her, Medusa’s thrash, into a friend.

My thoughts

I liked this episode very much. In fact, every episode gets better. Blair’s appearance was the best part of the show. She’s so HAWT!!! Ahem. Ignore my rant.

Anyway, I’m glad Chrona’s solved, which is pretty nice especially with the ending theme. Now, only 2 more to be settled, which are right next to the Demon God. Things are getting exciting and I always find Soul Eater episodes are tooooooooo short. It cuts you off at the exciting moments and makes you drool for more.

Also, I found Death the Kid to be more and more irritating as Black Star shys on his irritability. Symmetry isn’t important!! Soul on the other hand seems to be afraid of being near people, probably because of the possibility of hurting them. Seems like the burden of having the demon blood is taxing on him.

Anyway, the most important point is: I thought Mizune wasn’t as hot as blair, sadly. She looks like she’s wearing garbage cans. Even without bra, it will never never win my beloved BLAIR!!!! More Blair next episode please!

Summary

This week carries on from last week, where the 3 heroes plus Stein enter the underground level of Shibusen, ready to stop Medusa and her minions. As Maka insisted on fighting Chrona, Black Star vanishes away with Speed Star. Of course, Chrona won’t allow him to pass, but Maka stops her in time, bashing her up with pure fist. Personally I find this silly of Maka. Black Star would have thrashed Chrona entirely.

Anyway, as the noobs tried to take a battle that is poorly matched, they constantly bashed Chrona, but to no avail. Maka and Soul however already know several of Chrona moves such as the Bloody Needle and Maka was able to avoid it in time.

Meanwhile, Stein and Medusa continue their long discussion. Seems like the black blood is starting to affect Maka. Medusa then reveals that Chrona’s her child. Scenes were then shown of how a little girl(/guy) got hit over and over and over by young Ragnarok because she caused him to be locked in a room together with her as punishment. She was meant to kill a cute little black dragon, which she couldn’t. After some torturing, she got the black blood infused into her and she managed to kill it heartlessly.

Apparently, she is a total mental as the fight resumes. Soul and Maka were left without any choice but to use the Witch Hunter technique. It worked? To show some eyecandy it did, but it was useless.

Apparently, despite having new ways to use the Witch Hunter, Chrona’s still too powerful. Anyways, their souls resonated during Witch Hunter and Maka was able to enter into Soul’s self pleasuring room. I thought she looked quite pretty there.

Anyways, with constant hammering from Chrona, it was time that Soul was going to break. The duo decided to take the risk and accept the Imp’s offer.

My english is going to be effected as well.

Maka then loses her sanity, a small price to pay for power as she thrashes Chrona. Fortunately, Soul was still able to retain his. Alas, the story has to end at such a peak period.

My thoughts

The battle this week was awesome as usual. The new uses of Witch Hunter was pretty cool too. Black Star’s movements were also quick and straight to the point despite the few second he had. Apparently, he’s not all dumb and shit, because if he really wanted to, he could start an argument with Maka.

The story about the little dragon was already preplanned as we have seen it before. Small slips like these are interesting and do not spoil the story at all as long as they have an impact to the main storyline and aren’t plotless. Eventually, Maka gets the ability to stop Chrona’s attack with her black blood as well. Now however, they may actually be on par and it will be dumb to watch a stale mate. If only Maka listened to Stein…

Attirewise, I liked Maka’s dress, which compliments Soul’s pretty much. Her looks also somehow made her more feminine. Anyone noticed that as well? Oh well, +1 to love list for Maka, but she’ll never win Haruna!!

Anyway, this is a good episode for all the shonen action lovers. Enjoy.

Summary

Maka is flat and Tsubaki is huge

The students of Shibusen are having a ball, all the weapons and meisters, except Sid are gathered. Even Shinigami has also left his safe zone in the mirror to join the party. The anime then feeds small bites of information to the audience to prepare for a huge event, an event that only can be triggered with all of Shibusen in the same place. The motive: To awaken the Demon God that is imprisoned within Shibusen. Meanwhile Maka is forced to dance with her father, Kid forces Liz and Patty to do perfect dance kicks and Black Star eats like a pig.

Alas, the mastermind herself also takes part in the ball, only to be approached by an observant Stein for a dance. Meanwhile, the others were preparing for the masterplan. As the song ended, all the secrets were revealed, and Stein was given an offer to join Medusa, as a scientist. Their end-of-dance kiss however was broken by the voice of Sid. AWW, Sid you idiot. ‘Everyone evacuate!!’ he says or something like that. However, it was too late as they were trapped in a cube for an hour.

The only ones who managed to escaped were via Sid’s resonance of souls skill, causing the three heroes, their weapons and Dr. Stein to fall through coffins into the basement. Obviously, the basement leads to the Demon God.

Meanwhile as they walked, they added a new party member, Death Scythe, -.- What a cocktease. Anyway, the fight ensues as they approach Medusa. Stein quickly devises a plan and unwisely reveals it to the team. Eventually, all three manage to escape Medusa’s vector arrows whilst Stein prevents her from giving chase. After a long thrash talk, an awesome battle ensues as new techniques were used.

Not overpowering attacks but rather utility skills. Stein uses his threads to sew Medusa onto the places he wants her to be whilst Medusa produced vector plates that affected both Stein and herself to manoever around the battlefield. Stein cleverly exploits this and uses his intelligence to counterattack. Their skill was on par however. He was then given an offer to join Medusa again and he hesitates.

1/4 second later:

Kid, sticking to the plan zooms off with his skateboard to the designated area, passing Chrona without giving them a chance to react. Black Star showed brilliant skill in energy management by changing sword forms wisely and thus managed to reach his target. Just as the fight with Chrona was about to begin, Maka barges in. Seems like Maka wants a piece of the cookie.

My Thoughts

I am very glad that the episode has carried on this far. Also, some information about Death Scythes being in other parts of the world are leaked. Although this gets my blood pumping, I hope it doesn’t become a ninja village kind of thing. Pieces of juicy history like the Demon God are nice additions an already exciting episode.

 The new skills are pretty good looking, innovative and not to forget, very very well animated. I like fast paced battles that are well animated and detailed, beating Claymore by a notch. Artwise, I like Maka’s dress, she sure looked a lot more charming in it. Its refreshing to see the characters having a change of attire. I hope that her relationship with Soul can progress a little faster. As of now, its going a little nowhere and Soul is like a sulky old man.

I certainly hope nothing bad happens to Maka due to their mismatch, however mismatch is good as we can all expect her to win because if she loses, then nobody would want to watch SE already right?? Perhaps Soul would awaken and hurt Maka again. Perhaps…

Lastly, i would like to compliment SE on their explainations of tactics, which is pretty similar to certain naruto episodes, giving clear concise descriptions and pictures to allow the readers to get a feel of the situation without wasting too much time. Anyway, I’m sure we’re all going to enjoy the rest of this arc, especially the weapon changing imbal shit.

This stupid episode explains the nature of the anime shown known as Soul Eater

The P-Meister is currently in Germany learning how to be a Belka Knight so I have no choice but to cover this episode of Soul Eater for him. It is rather strange that I am doing this one since my previous job on Soul Eater is also about Exalibuurrraaaaa. Not that I am complaining though because he is my favorite character and… I am not used to writing English the way it is done in the States. I like cheesecake and Walker crisps. Who likes that Dirk Nowitzki?

This post will not talk about the heroic deeds of our dear Excalibur mainly because episode 17 was a filler and you probably would die of shame after reading/recalling about his greatness.

One may or may not notice the silent message that this seemingly funny lame yet meaningless episode is trying to express as it confounds us with the spectacular medley of Excalibur or so as I perceive it to be. Subtle hints have been given to suggest the general direction of Soul Eater or to be exact, the feel of the show and those are the reasons why I do not understand why the P-Meister is unable to appreciate certain scenes like the one where Death the Kid decided to halt his pursuit of Chrona in order to admire the symmetry of the clouds around the laughing sun. Suffice to say, Soul Eater does not take itself seriously and it is comprised of nothing but unadulterated fun. Everyone is entitled to a moment of silliness so just sit back and relax as Soul Eater humors you with its lack of common sense.

A Wendy’s is coming to the campus of my future university and I look forward to it since I have not been to Wendy’s for over a decade after they sort of vanished from Singapore. The watch keeps track of time for me.

However, their scam was so bad that anybody who watches teletubbies would know its wrong. Anyway, lets carry on with the summary, but before that, lets start with misleading captions.

Summary

The fight against Chrona continues. I would say there was no losing party besides Niddhog, who lost his whole ship with Chrona’s imbalanced slash. Be prepared to see it nerfed. Anyway, a the story doesn’t start of like this, but rather with a little more of the feelings of Patty and Liz.

The battle resumes, where Kid manages to get quite a number of hits but Chrona seems unharmed. However, they were interrupted by Niddhog that eventually led to the destruction of the ship. Kid then started to chase Chrona down.

The battle with Chrona didn’t last much longer however, as the hot pursuit with floating skateboards similar to the one in ‘Back to the Future 2′ ended after Kid saw the sun. The sun was symmetrical. Ok, I’m getting sick of this symmetrical shit, but let us have things continue.

Maka then carries on with a blood test, with everything normal. Medusa claims that the black blood was just a misperception. A poor claim but Maka believes her. Medusa prods more about the Imp that Soul sees but Maka is ignorant about it. Angry, she leaves, determined to interrogate Soul.

Looks like Medusa’s witchery has already been noticed for sometime, of course by an expert, Stein. Stein confiscates the wierd drug that medusa handed to Maka and taunts her. As soon as she had the intention however, Stein chickened out and acted lame. He then explains the situation to Sid and a character we haven’t seen before, that is Sid’s weapon. Lets call her Knife for now.

So Sid and his Knife sneaked in, like solid snake, and clicked examine on the journal, just like any 3rd person shooter game. As he was looking at her plans, the crafty Elka dropped bombs into the room, detonating him and the entire building. (Of course, they won’t die so fast, would they?) Elka then mentions something about a festival… hmm.

Kid then questions his father about the ‘demon god closest to us’. As his father gave a generic answer, Kid then rejects his answer and demands a perfect one. I believe Shinigami knows something but decides to hide it from Kid. Something to do with his soul which we have seen before.

My thoughts

I kind of figured out Stein knew something from the start. Sojourner was like telling me: They are so silly that they didn’t notice Medusa’s similarities after the first witch encounter. Seems like Stein was just collecting evidence, thats all.

Seriously, Kid’s symmetrical retardation has to stop. Its getting annoying, not funny. *sigh* Kid’s moves however were pretty good especially the slide kick. Moves such like shadow stepping beside Chrona however are scenes that have been used many times in many anime and stories and games. Chrona’s moves were also pretty cool. That barrier thing is however also overused. =P

I like the way this episode builds up for the coming episodes as it gives a tense feeling with the building explosion and the Shinigami and Kid’s incident. Also what will happen now that Medusa has been discovered to be a witch. I’m sure she’ll make Elka the scapegoat or something.

Next episode

Sadly the tension will be quenched by the next episode, which is another excalibur one. BUAAAAKA! There’s nothing to be sad about. Excalibur is the coolest.

Summary

Episode starts of with the trio on a mission to solve the black dragon mystery. Turns out that a ship, called the Nidhogg is devouring towns. The citizens are terrified, but after some research, they managed to get some information from the people and the library. Patty was as usual retarded as ever, being amused by a picturebook and Liz was being skeptical and complaining about every single thing Kid did.

Anyway, the three move out on the small rowboat again and get stuck in a fog. Liz then reveals her fear of ghosts. Yes, it is retarded in a horror movie to get up a haunted ship, but this is a shonen series, so we need to be brave. The two other retards managed to get up the ship. One complaining of not hitting the ship at symmetry whilst the other rowing like a mad woman crashing Kid’s head into the ship. Anyways, caught up in their retardation, Liz accidentally got up the ship herself. Bah! Now we got 3 retards. A perfect combo.

As expected, the ship is haunted, but in all shonen series, there has to be an explanation, not a ghostly one of course. Turns out that there was a soul collector in the ship who has collected loads of human souls that is meant for a Demon God that is closest to them. I believe its Soul but we may ALL be wrong!! His will is one with the ship and he uses the ship to make Liz fall into a pitfall trap. (Ah, pitfall trap, I miss monster hunter.)

Anyway, whilst Liz shakes in fear whilst being led by a ghost out of the area, Kid and Patty can’t fight nuts because he can’t achieve symmetry with 1 gun. What kind of excuse is that. Just hold that one gun with two hands! Dang!

The author then takes the perfect chance to explain their history. Patty and Liz were a group of sisters feared by the common man, as we heard before, the Thompson sisters. One day they tried to rob Kid, ignorant of his identity. Stupid move as Liz says, but they were a gem to his eyes. Turns out Kid is a madman for symmetry and we already know that. He has rejected many arranged marriages and those women are pretty good looking. Guess who’s the pimp? Hah! Character of the Month: Death Scythe!

Anyway, after summarizing their relationships, Liz was helped by a few ghosts, after loads of persuasion. She was brought out to the decks, only to meet Patty and Kid. Just then, as they were thrash talking, A sword pierced into the neck of the shipowner, killing the bad guy. Guess who’s out? Chrona. Eeeek!

Chrona then activates a move, called resonance of screams, and at one shot, allowed Ragnarok to suck all the souls of the ship, transforming him into a dragon. Note: The dragon animation is wonderful. Take your time to replay it over and over. (Note 2: Dragons and pitfall traps, i miss monster hunter.) Lets see the dragon again:

Meanwhile, Kid changed his pose to the ‘Stance of Sin’ which looked really awkward. He then says something uber cool: ‘You will be judged.’ One may not have noticed but Chrona gained those wings after the ragnarok is changed to sword form. Picture? Below, cuz I know u’ll ask for it. HOHOHO!

My thoughts

I am pleased with this episode. The storyline is going on at the right pace for 51 episodes and it is certainly getting interesting. I want to see how this will lead up to Medusa. Kid’s coat was also epic, though it got lost in battle. It is the same coat that Shinigami wears. With the mask he just looks like the real thing. Heh. Maybe we’ll see it in cosfest 2009.

Next, this episode showed a part of Liz which we have never seen before. The relationship between Weapon and Technicians are further examplified by the marriage arrangements, hinting at a love relationship.

Seems like Kid actually care about his weapons from the way he talks to them, especially calling Patty stupid about eating human souls things. Seems like he has accepted them for what they are even though Patty’s a complete retard.

Last point: WHERE IS MY BLAIR!!!????

Summary

The day starts off with Maka and Soul finally achieving 99 evil human souls and 1 soul of a witch, with a personal graduation type of ceremony held for them. The crowds cheered as Soul was about to become Shinigami’s weapon… not.

This whole event was actually only a dream. The worst has yet to come as Dr. Stein announces a test, called the Ultra Exam. Discussion between Soul and Black star reveals that the one who scores top in class is destined to make his/her weapon into a death scythe. Whilst the rest acted like retards, Maka and Tsubaki were the only serious ones. Maka wishes to score first just like her mother. But in order to do so, she will have to beat Ox. Ox… isn’t that a wierd name? Guess what his last name is: Ford. OxFord. WTF!!

Everyone returns home and studies, but we all know there’s no such thing as last minute studying. Hence for those who aren’t so academically gifted, they tend to look for different ways to pass the damn exam. I’m talking about Soul and Black Star here. Black Star tries to steal the answer sheet and gets caught by Stein. I kind of feel sad for Tsubaki as she had put in effort to help him learn. During the exam, he gets thrashed and got hung at the black board, bleeding.

Anyway, before the exam, Kid and Liz and Patty were studying somewhat. Liz is constant doing makeup whilst Patty slept drooling. Kid, paranoid as usual makes a blue print of Liz’s face and intends to pluck her eyebrows symetrically. Also, not to forget Maka’s father, who is constantly trying to give her the aura to do well in her test. Blair on the other hand was a lonely kitty deprived of attention.

Soul who started studying late and had pussy… uh, i mean… cat distractions decides to hide all the answers in his clothes. Whilst he may seem successful at first, he was caught and stripped off his clothes. Being forced to do the test whilst nude and having only retards around him i.ePatty made a giraffe out of her test papers, behaving like she was mentally ill and Death the Kid had problem making his name symetrical, Soul obviously wasn’t very successful. Even the signal from Black Star who actually saw the test scripts was nothing but a spoof as he signed an autograph with blood. Poor Soul. Kid didn’t fail to add additional distraction by accidentally tearing his paper with an eraser, then puking blood and fainting right after.

Meanwhile, Liz tries to pluck off the hair from Ox Ford and whilst Maka double checks her test. The exam ends. Turns out Maka got first and Ox got second. She then walks away with a little bit too much calmness. Anyway, her dad then celebrates with a drink with Blair. I love that attire she was wearing. Kekeke. Anyway, the shy father gives the money to Blaire so that she could buy a book as a present for Maka. Maka gets underwear instead. Ask Blair why.

My thoughts

This episode was pretty hilarious. However, I thought the excalibur episode was better. There is also a new ED and it was pretty good. My favourite character is now Death the Kid. Anyway, as for test, I used to score 2nd and I was pretty unhappy. When i managed to get 1st, I boasted to Sojourner but then again, it wasn’t a really big deal after a while. Guess I understand why Maka wasn’t that euphoric. As for Blair, I was pretty happy at the attire near the end. Such eye candies can never cease to make me happy. Lets have Blair every episode. Lastly, it seems like Maka and Blair are pretty close in terms of friendship. Wait till she finds out her pet actually flirts with her father.

Next week features action from Kid… finally… as well as Chrona! Time the spotlights turned. I bet it’ll be a good one next week.

Summary

The story continues as froggy Elka, a witch under control by Medusa frees a demon who turns out to be immortal. He was stabbed by the other witches who hunted them down but owned them instead. During this time, he thanks Medusa for freeing her.

However, Medusa’s attitude towards freedom seemed somewhat different. Whilst she already holds a pet frog and not keeping her end of the bargain, she also intends to do something with Free(the demon’s name). Nobody knows what she’s planning.

Meanwhile, Soul and Maka undergoes uber hard training, which is unbelievably to sit down and tell each other’s faults. Terms and conditions of training: Change in soul wavelength such that they will not match. OOOO, seemed pretty easy, so Soul started yelling insults at Maka. Sensitive words like fat ankle and others started to hurt Maka. Maka who is also ignorant of the devil within Soul said hurtful words as well.

Anyway, the pair along with Tsubaki and Black Star travels to London for some extra curricular activities. (London, such a familiar site to the P-Meister. That is the Tower bridge if i’m not wrong.) Anyway, Free visits them. Fortunately, we have Black Star who MASTERED THE FEY BLADE!!! He OWNED FREE!!!….. for ten seconds, but before he hit, he fell. Seems like his stamina training only lasted for 10 seconds. Better do more 2.4s. He wasn’t really useful but he distracted Free enough for soul to STAB HIM IN THE CHEST!! OWNAGE!!!… not. Lets remember that he’s immortal. Free then becomes his true form, the WEREWOLF!!

Next, Maka and Soul tries to battle. However, their soul wavelengths didn’t match as Soul burns the hands of Maka. After some time of being pawned even after Free screwed up like 10 times. Maka decides to do something different, that is to hold the weapon despite its heat. Oww… Anyway, after some swashbuckling, Maka and Soul straightened their thoughts with the help of Tsubaki n some thrash talk with the imp in Soul’s dream. They then used the witch hunter. During this time, a perfect resonance was produced. but the soul wavelengths made Maka feel like she was being devoured. Maka then cuts off the werewolf tail and kicks him off the bridge, tossing herself along with him.

The fighting finally ends with Soul grabbing onto Maka’s ankle, saying ‘your ankles are smaller than i thought’ or something like that, a poor excuse for an apology but thats what men always do to make girls happy don’t they?

Free falls, after some struggle and due to his many screw ups, encapsulated by his own ice. The end. Maka then coughs out black blood. The poor thing….

Thoughts on this episode

Did I say I didn’t like it at the start of the post? The devouring part was sooo expected. Also, too many small events are happening in the previous episodes such that I don’t feel that this was such a big deal. Kid also didn’t get any screen time. This is the worst episode so far. However, this only applies if you compare it with other episodes. I still think the SE series is fun to watch, and this episode is not bad, but bad according to its previous episode standards.
