I learned a lesson through a really painful process, all thanks to Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka. Akasaka is a show that will compel one to keep watching it even if it considered as “bad.” That was pertaining to my circumstances. There were certain elements in the show that were sincere in their cruelty, ripping the many layers of my tolerance and sanity. The generally acceptable opinion (I would perceive it to be) of why Akasaka is “bad” is because of its weak development. But putting that aside, I was made to reflect on a certain matter after noticing another VERY UNIQUE aspect of Akasaka.

Perhaps the most obvious issue in Akasaka is that ALMOST EVERYONE IS NOT PERTURBED BY THE FACT THAT JUNICHI IS INTO HIS SISTER. Surely “socially healthy” people would find it a glaring matter but that is really not what I would want to talk about.

If the implied society of Akasaka is generally fine with the idea that SISTERS ARE FOR HUMPING, then perhaps we ought to accept it as a distinctive, and plausible element of the show. After all, I believe the transcendence of realism and the embracing of plausibility in literary work is an useful approach to convey messages, drive (otherwise unacceptable) the plot, and provide character development. And we can take certain plausible, but not realistic, observations as allegories of some sort, right?

So I confess, I did not enjoy Akasaka; but that did not stop me from finishing the show lol. However, the question I want to put forth is as follows: is it right to dislike something for a lack of realism and an inclination towards plausibility?

Oh dear. Although I would want to say that we ought to be more receptive of a compromise between being realistic and being plausible, I guess I should not have used Akasaka as an example, right. Or maybe it is an example of DOING IT WRONG?

Hey. Now we have to accept the fact that boobs like Tsukasa’s do behave like that conventionally in the world of Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka eh?

Kimikiss Pure Rouge

A mind fart, according Urban Dictionary, happens when you think something is brewing but nothing comes out. A mind fart show has to be something that was promising initially but turned out to be a letdown. At the beginning, this show had a simple formula that was capable of capturing my attention: good chemistry that effused from the characters. But the magic faded away when Mao decided to have a go with Kooooouichi, rather than choosing saxo-boy. Moral of the story: the osananajimi bond is a powerful force that defies all odds, second only to the power of siscon/wincest.

Code Geass R2

Code Geass was very interesting to me because  it had featured an anti-hero like protagonist whose ideals were those that I could somehow relate to. I was initially excited by the first season because it had so much potential in becoming a compelling story about idealism and deep sh*t stuff but my hopes were dashed by its convoluted plot. Putting my disappointment aside, it was still an interesting watch to follow because of all the laughter it had brought. Do not get me started about how many memes and crazy shopped pictures it had spawned. So what if some people said it was a horrible show? They were just tsundere for it. After the show had ended, most anime fans suffered from withdrawal symptoms because of a lack of Code Geass. Code Geass, a personal disappointment and an unexpected surprise for me.

Most Spectacular Anime of 2008

Macross Frontier

I believe a spectacular “thing” is something that just simply succeeds at the task of awing the crowd. I, personally, found the first 15 episodes of Macross Frontier to be an overwhelming experience. Knowing how popular this show is, there is no need for me to reiterate its formula for success. Uh. Nevermind; I shall. Addictive music. Dogfights. POP SINGERS. Space battles that embodify the idea of “AWESOMENESS.” This show was one big romantic opera. I call it a romantic piece because it was brimming with an epic sense as I am constantly reminded that it is a tale of mankind expanding deeper into space.

SOUL EATER

People love to look down upon shounen shows because they are just about fighting. Well, it is an action genre so what can you expect? Hate bad shounen and not good shounen is my policy. This year’s best action anime for the Blue Fox Alley happens to be a shounen. Nothing can go wrong if you have Excalibur.

Best Drama of 2008

Gundam OO Season 1

Gundam OO had an ending that could have been more riveting if it had gone easy on the emo. But after overlooking that issue, which is always an irk as I am allergic to emo, you would fine a decently conducted conclusion. No one had expected the almighty Gundam meisters to suffer any casualties so the deaths of Lockon and other Celestial Being members brought a shock. Suffice to say, you have to watch the ending of the first season in order to understand why it has the best drama for the year 2008 in my opinion.

Junjou Romantica

I strongly believe that there are some aspects in life that simply cannot be explained. Defying logic and rationality, I found myself exploring the treacherous domain of butsecks and unrealistic homosexual romance. Fine. I was just watching this for the lulz. It was really entertaining. It was either this or Kanokon.

I belong to neither the “Kaioshin is nothing but a Sunrise fanboy” faction nor the “WTF IS WITH THE GUNDAM HATE! WE NEED CHANGE ON THE INTERNETS” faction, but the magnitude of the controversy that this one brave man has stirred is worthy of remembering as we are close to the end of this year. Nevertheless, this lovely piece of epic drama has shown the tendency for people to stir up reactions of extreme polarities when it comes to interacting on the Internet. But I believe just like how we view Code Geass, we are all tsundere for Kaioshin-sama. We love you!

Otaku ♀ then listens to the advice from her friends and her families(or the anime she watches). Whilst these might work, some might conflict with the rules of the world. As such, the P-Meister is here to provide the critical basics of healthcare for babies, that is breastfeeding. In order to get more viewsBefore we begin, lets start off with an off topic picture… uh oh, i see Male Trainers and their Dittos gathering.

Breastfeeding

Be glad if you have the chance to breast feed your child. I wasn’t breast fed. Somehow this must have worsened relations with me and my mother and she seems to love my brother more, but I don’t give shit… its not like I have an obsession with tits… do… I…? ANYWAY! Back to the point. When you have a child, make sure u BREASTFEED them AS SOON AS THEY ARE BORN. Yes, as soon as they are born.

For starters, babies are born with a reflex to suckle. If you do not feed them, they might refuse your tits in the future. Besides there’s nothing that can replace breast milk even with the latest technology unless you’re willing to pay big bucks. Do you want to deprive your child of big nice fleshy tits. This is just against nature and I am nature… I LOVE TITS… AHH… I admitted. Damn.

Anyway, here’s a list of 10 benefits that come from milking boobs:

1 ) Decrease child/adult onset diseases.

2 ) Passive immunity by passing on antibodies

3 ) Higher IQ (I must have gotten milk from the nurse!)

4 ) Lean and not overweight babies

5 ) Less waste from milk bottles and powder cans

6 ) Working mothers miss work less

7 ) Convenient

8 ) Bonding session with baby

9 ) Lowers risk of ovarian and breast cancers

Besides those points, there are two others which I would like to focus on. That is that breast feeding can decrease your weight and yet increase breast size. Women lose 4kg from breast feeding and gain 3.5kg from pregnancy. No need plastics to get the hotbod of the anime girl you like. LOOK!!! Now, when u go to the supermarket and you see a bespectacled with bird nest hair and unattractive physique smelling of otaku sweat walking beside a hot slim babe with huge tits, the wife must have gotten the right advice from the right person. Makes guys jealous huh? TITS…

Now, some mothers don’t want to breast feed because its painful, but in fact, breast feeding has been reported to be comfortable and pleasurable. A baby should have a large chunk of fleshy tit shoved into his mouth. This way, he will use his tongue to milk it and the lips should be facing outwards. If anyone needs practice, do find the P-Meister… who will prove its pleasurable.

Some mothers also think that their milk will run out, but this is not the case for breast feeding. Before I move on to the next topic however, let me tell you if you are ♀ and you wish to continue to impress your husband, make sure you breastfeed equally on both sides. If you have a chance, watch anime SUBBED/RAW in front of your children. NO DUBS. Dubbed anime are silly and stupid. To be fair, i should provide a scientific or logical basis for this claim, so here it is, a small experiment you can do when you need to breastfeed.

1) When breastfeeding, say ‘luh luh luh luh luh’, repeatedly, 1 luh every 5 seconds. Your baby will suck slowly.

2) Now, try saying ‘ruh ruh ruh ruh ruh’, repeatedly, same rate. Your baby will still suck slowly.

3) Finally say ‘luh ruh luh ruh luh ruh’, repeatedly, same rate, your baby will suck fast!!

Now, it is proven that bilingual families tend to have children who develop better. There’s a reason why many Japanese still speak Engrish because they are not exposed to the right environment when young. Therefore, watch subs, not dubs. This way your child can develop complexity in their brain. Subs can make the environmental exposure to your child trilingual which thus increases their IQ.

Negatives

Of course, in every case, there’s always a point when we overdo things, which reminds me of a particular sketch in Little Britain.

Ok, maybe this is not what I really expected.

This is a probably a better picture of what I kinda expected. Kan’u and the protagonist live happily ever after. But that is not gonna happen to our sangoku heros. So why is episode 12 “The Fail”? I put the blame on Ryuubi.

I’m disappointed at how they made Ryuubi into a loser in this anime, and I dont think that their “I wonder if he’s even the real Ryuubi” can even cover their ass up. Pity our sangoku hero here, being made fun of like that. Anyone who played the game will agree with me. Although the protagonist is not Ryuubi, at least he isn’t being a jerk and is trying his best to get a harem ending.

So what did we really get from the ending? A 6P Nothing but a dose of “but that’s another story” and “That story will be told some other time”. Nice…

Whats fun about this anime series is the SD characters. They just pop out suddenly and makes you go “awwww….”. And our Kan’u here is more lively and cuter than in the game. Let’s just say this anime is a publicity tool to make you buy/try their game.

And there is one thing I would like to thank the anime team for.

Oh look! Classic ‘Girl With Bread In Her Mouth Overslept This Morning!’ scene!

I hate and love this show. After a promising start with its first two episodes, the show is now focusing on the fanservice rather than bonerific aerial and naval battles.

Ho ho. It HAS to be from that angle. lol

But what keeps me going is its quirky way of offering fanservice. Unbashful and blatantly deliberate, the presentation is humorous from the view of the those on the other side of the fourth wall as the knicker flashing ladies are totally oblivious of the impact of their actions. And this episode goes on to tease the audience with a series of coincidental censoring which is also responsible of the sudden outbreak of suicides among young men throughout the world.

Sanya and friends, returning from duty.

This week’s episode was disturbingly fun as it was a vicious cycle of knicker stealing among the girls. The true culprit behind the fiasco made an impressive debut as a center of focus for this episode without a lot of lines or actions, Erica Hartmann is your (wo)man indeed. Serving as the envoy of chaos, Erica sends the base into panic without seemingly having any awareness of her own involvement in it. Are Erica’s antics compensating for a drought of STARLIGHT BREEAAAAAKER decent fights? Not really since I did not start on this show for the Days Of Their Lives.

Disturbing and wonderful. 2 in 1.

Strike Witches is a very misleading show. I do not know whether it is meant to be somewhat like an epic or a charity for fanservice only. But since it is set in such an apocalyptic world, there will surely be more explosions. Because it would out of place for the show to end so anti-climatically with a lack of those, given its setting. Please make it awesome, Gonzo.

Which reminds me, Francesca’s offense would have gotten her charged in a real military organization or at least over 9000 extra duties!

Gosh. There is something really strange with Strike Witches! I am supposed to be annoyed with its fanservice but somehow it is feeling damn great. It is like the ultimate tease to fans of fanservice. FANSERVICE, IT IS WHAT YOU WANT RIGHT? SO TAKE IT! While I am suppose to roll my eyes because of the promise of a beach episode, I find myself laughing really hard because of it and actually am looking forward to it.

Apart from the fact that the fanservice is oddly interesting, I hope there will be more explosions and exciting battles. I would kill to hear someone scream at the Neuroi, saying, ‘TODAY, ONLY ONE OF US GETS TO GO HOME’.

Digging my own grave is what I call it, an act which is conducted despite the existence of preceding awareness that should have prevented said act from occuring.

Personally, Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu is the weakest link in my To-Watch-List for Summer 2008. Meaning that it has a rather high chance of being dropped within the first few episodes. All based on speculations and first impressions of course. Expectations and personal tolerance are what aggregate one’s ability to appreciate a show, in fact they weigh significantly unless the show itself has some mad directing or AWESOME stuff going on. I felt kind of silly in placing certain expectations on this show despite it being obvious that I was not going to get what I want.

The first episode Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu begins by introducing one of the main characters, Yuuto, as an average cool fellow who is currently a high school student. Wicked so let us move on. He happens to live with his elder sister. Not to forget the frequent overnight visits by one of the teachers of his high school who seems to be a close friend of the family. Just watch the show and you will figure out that the ladies are asking for it, seriously.

Moving on from that piece of informative start, we find Yuuto on his way to school while chatting with a bunch of unmemorable Horny High School Sidekick Boys™. But at least the show did not drag in introducing the second main character. Her name is Nogizaka Haruka, the belle of the school, and the reason for this story to exist.

While everything has been fine and just simply unimpressive, we find ourselves with the first fanservice scene of the show! Ah fanservice. It is a love-hate relationship and very often or not would I find myself finding a show losing value in watching when there is fanservice. Especially if the fanservice fails to please is just simply not appealing.

ARGH! NOT FANSERVICE!

Oh wait… That does not seem right…

Anyway, disappointment and fulfillment of expectations carries certain influence in the comments of fans.  And since Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu is not or has yet to suggest that it is somewhat like a Genshiken approach towards the Otaku culture *no shit. sherlock*, I was disappointed by the first episode because I did not get what I want. But there was a shimmer of hope when I realised that the show had begun with the OP song of an anime within the anime show itself.

By no means is NogiHaru a disaster; this is just the first episode! It has reasonable execution except that the development seemed rathing hasty at certain points. But unless it is crazily refreshing to watch, it will suffer the tragic but common fate of being labelled as one of the many shows out there. That is because too many have been there and done that. Prior to writing this post, I was attempting to rick roll at least twenty people on my MSN chat list and since most of them have not even heard of Rick Rolling, they were amused by the prank. But there was one bloke who was not impressed by Rick Astley because he has seen that shit too many times. So maybe if Naruto was one of the first few works from the Japanese manga industry, it might have been hailed as the Greatest Story Evar Told. Damn inflation! Sure is tough trying to impress kids these days.

So will I carry on watching this show? The answer for now is yes because although there are ‘meta-reasons’ behind dropping it, NogiHaru has yet to annoy me. Well… except for the fanservice.

So why was I upset about seeing fanservice? Was I that angry? Wait, allow me to use a certain tool to recall those specific emotions.

Oh yeah. Now I remember how I felt.

How did it go you ask? Well, nothing is too difficult for the P-Meister. One of the questions was, describe the process of sexual intercourse, and of course, the guru of sexual intercourse has no problems answering it! Still, I wouldn’t wanna bore you with all the scientific details, so i’m only gonna cut short and focus on 1 point! Why do anime girl faces turn red in particular scenes!

In the books, sex is much different from that in reality or those in HARCORE XXX videos that are easily found online. In fact, it is split into four stages. This is called the human sexual response cycle.

3) Climax

4) Refractory

Girl’s faces start to turn red at 1 and start dissapearing at 3. This redness is called sex flush. Let me show you an example…

Yes, I have an eroge not just on Haruna but on Lala too. In fact i got 2, but thats another story. However this does not happen in everyone, only 75% of women and 25% of men will display this. Still, despite watching several PrONXXXHARDCORE informatory videos on sex besides anime ones, I didn’t notice such a phenomenon. These pinkish spots appear not only on the face but on the breast, torso, face, hands and soles of the feet. OMG, how did scientist even find that out.

Why does it happen, it is of course due to the many properties of the skin, which besides protection and touching pleasure, also allows expression of feelings of embarassment, anger and H-ness. I won’t go into the structure of the skin, so if anyone asks you, why do anime girl faces turn red, just say its vasodilation of the vessels in the integument of the face. =) (Note: Integument means skin) hmm, since when did i learn to talk like fansubs.
