Gaming was always a thing for me, especially on consoles. Honestly, I’m really looking forward to getting a 3rd generation console but I’ve been only playing my DS/PC lately. Why? After trying all the consoles, lets have a review to compare and contrasts its strength and weakness. First, I’d like to present a song to Sony.
Best Music Ever!!
First and worst is the PS3. Many fanatics who haven’t done enough research have rushed to buy the PS3. Why do people buy the PS3? Because of Blue Ray. Its selection of games is not exclusive however as many good games, including FFVIII. There are also Blue Ray problems as well as issues with online play. Why would one buy the PS3? I don’t know, perhaps to waste money? People who buy PS3s are stupid crap. Period.
It can’t even play the PS2 games for the 40gig version. For stupid fanboys who want to watch a gender bent Cloud in the next Final Fantasy. Oh, that brings us to this video.
FF13 out on 360. I can feel the rage of PS3 fanboys…
To make things worse, they’ve bought Tekken 6 TOO!!
Lets move on
A fair comparison would be the XBox 360. 360 is one of the best gaming systems with superb graphics which is very closely similar to the PS3 version (unless u got a 100 inch TV). It however has a terrible RROD problem and a fan that sounds like a cyclone. It is also one of the most returned products ever, costing microsoft billionsm thus having a terrible reputation. The plus point is however much better than the PS3. I’ll list 5 of the most important reasons.
1) RROD has been fixed a year ago and fan isn’t noisy in the new models, a product referred to as Jasper.
2) NXE provides a totally new XBox experience. Xbox has a copy of the mii system in Wii but improved.
3) Its game gallery is superb and it has almost no loading time if you install the games into the harddisk.
4) It is very very cheap.
5) It has optional non-buggy online play.
6) It plays Xbox games as long as you have a hard drive.
The Wii on the other hand is not comparable to these systems. Why? Because it caters to a different group of people. It is however the best console for party and friends. Its graphics may be lacking but it had superb gameplay. Its controls are amazing, allowing a wide variation of movements including slashing and the like. The Wii Board adds even more functions by allowing stepping and the boasting of many of its exclusive games like Rabid Party and Wii Fit.
Its weakness is however due to the fact that it is the first of its kind. Innovative but new. It has not perfected its own system. The Wii has failed to provide games for people who preferred action or 2d fighting games and has a lack of action and FEEL AND POWER AND THE DARK SIDE… oops. It has hack and slash on the game Force Unleashed apparently and is the most fun except you don’t get the cool backhand shien stance and the graphics are weak when compared to its PS3 and 360 counterparts.
So, we’re looking for the best gaming console here. Votes goes to:
360 8.5/10
Wii 8.5/10
PS3 6/10
Alas, scores are based from a gamer’s perspective, thus gaming plays an important role here.
Why did PS3 score so low? Firstly, the claimed graphics improvement isn’t very visible unless on a huge screen. Secondly, there’s a lot of missing good games for the PS3. 3rd, we’re talking about gaming, not media viewing. Even so, XBox(not 360) has adequate viewing capabilities. Wii fails to allow media viewing which is quite limited considering its price is 179 pounds, compared to the 129 pounds of the 360. PS3 which only offers blue ray that fans don’t need, sadly, is 299 pounds. Hurray XBox.
Shame on Microsoft
Three cheers for Microsoft for creating a good gaming console whose focus is on gaming but I must point out that Microsoft had a shameful experience with RROD. For many years, this problem has plagued many first gen fans who were treated like beta testers. If you were to buy a 360 now, you will NEVER ever have some of these problems. Is it fair? IMHO no. Second gen buyers get it cheaper and better. Patience is the key to success.
Even if Microsoft won the Console War… they did it at the expense of their 1st gen consumers. Will many buy the XBox 720 on release or just wait till the bugs are fixed? F*** M$.
Nintendo is the best company ever. Sadly, they ain’t as rich to monopolise the market. ARGGGHHH LIFE ISN’T FAIR.
Conclusion
All 3 consoles had major flaws in them which is very much a shame. Thankfully, 360(much like F***ing M$ Vista) has been fixed. I hope by the 4th generation consoles(if i am still alive), the companies would actually care about their customers more and provide better support.
Thank you everyone for reading.

3rd Generation? When this happen? I’m still on the PS2…>_>
In all seriousness, if I were to jump on one of these consoles…it would be the 360. Simply because it has more games than the PS3 or Wii that I want to play.
I could care less about their graphical power or media options, if it has the games I want to play, and I’m all for that system. And now, that system is the 360…
December 3, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Stupid crap?
Gee that’s harsh. Thank you for being such a blatant prick.
That said, the 360 is doing pretty good.
December 3, 2008 at 10:05 pm
I bought a PS3 and regretted it. I am a stupid idiot.
Krazy Ken better patch up these mistakes.
December 3, 2008 at 10:49 pm
we’re on the the 7th generation of console gaming
as much fun as the wii is, all its party games are one dimensional. like mario party, warioware, that rabbit game, its all the same garbage.
ps3 is backwards compatible, just get the one that is, i have the 60 gigs
i admit ps3 and xbox are essentially the same console, but wtf i bought so im sticking with it, it serves as a crappy blu-ray player for me room
December 3, 2008 at 10:53 pm
I don’t have any comment to make.
December 3, 2008 at 10:59 pm
also forgot to mention rrod still happens
you also didnt account for free online play for the ps3 and all the titles suchas little big planet + resistance + metal gear that are exclusive to the PS3
you know what else u could do with all those ps2 games if you can’t afford an 80 gig, plug in ur ps2.
December 3, 2008 at 11:08 pm
double post but…
LOL you consider yourself a console gamer with only a ds :S its been 3 years for some consoles on this generation and you don’t have one cmon are you serious
lol and for us stupid ps3 gamers out there, lol ps3 home is on its way
btw 360 is only cheap if u get core its hard-drive is only 20 gigs so playing old games is a chore, i might as well plug in my xbox again
December 4, 2008 at 12:14 am
All well said but IMO;
It all depends on gamer and games they wanted to play. Too bad MGS4 exclusively on PS3 =X
Thinking it over again most people who bought stuff never cared about the details as long as it feeds what they need lol

For serious gamers, it’s all about 360′s momentum. While debatable whether PS3 is catching up in game quality to the XBox console (personal preference really), and a good system at doing many things other than gaming, 360 is still significantly cheaper and the better online community experience.
If I were to go out today and buy a new console, I’d be able to get a couple more good games for the 360 at the same price of just purchasing a PS3 console. And I’d also be assured all of my friends (and many, many more others) are on the the XBox Live service.
December 4, 2008 at 1:32 am
And how is this only the 3rd generation? Did everything before PlayStation not count???
December 4, 2008 at 1:56 am
My console usage percentage:
Xbox 360: 80%
PS3 : 05%
Others : 15%
’nuff said
December 4, 2008 at 6:22 am
My 2nd hand xbox(don’t know how old it is) which i bought last year still works fine. It has the games i want to play inside already and i paid S$70? comes with 2 controllers too.
Dont think will upgrade yet. probably wait like you.
December 4, 2008 at 7:34 am
Ok then..
I have decided to stay with my PS2 for awhile.
Yea, it’s gonna die soon..
There are only a few RPGs for the next-gen consoles, so I ‘ll be waiting for more before I make my decision to buy one of those consoles (RPG fan).
December 4, 2008 at 8:49 am
well, its the 3rd generation because i didn’t count anything before the SNES or saturn. There was little competition at that time so the companies had it easy.
Competition only started at N64 VS PS1 and so the generation of consoles who took part in the console wars began.
anyways, Q&A
@Scarface
PS3 has free online play but you don’t get to see many people online for several games. Not as choicy or as well supported than Xbox Live. Unless you got rich friends who ALL bought PS3s, then you’re in luck. Still, my bad for not pointing it out.
I am a gamer who has a PS2, Xbox, DS, PSP, SNES, PS1. This generation of consoles isn’t very promising and hence I have delayed my buying.
Ever since people had less and less problems with the RROD(because probably Jasper is already in the market), I gained more confidence in the 360. Yes, RROD occurs, but it happens mostly with 20gig systems which are no longer on sale(at least at my local stores) M$ did a bad job but they always do(at first). Look at Vista. *sigh*
@ Aoki-Sama
MSG4 is a real regret but it is slightly overrated. I wouldn’t go spending and extra two hundred dollars just to play MSG4. The reason why the info took the entire blue ray disc is because they chose to use 3d models for cutscenes instead of prerecorded ones, thus wasting space inefficiently.
People have their way of doing things, but imho, it can be released on the 360 or PC if they used prerecorded cutscenes instead.
I believe 360 has its own share of RPGs too, like Lost Odessey, Last Remnant, Fable II, etc etc.
With that being said, i think i might get a 360 soon…
December 4, 2008 at 9:15 am
Argh my 360 is so bloody noisy. But at least we get FFXIII yay.
I want Last Remnant but I have no cash lol.
December 4, 2008 at 12:21 pm
@ sesshomaru_haku
Many people choose to place the 360 in a glass cabinet which solves the problem.
@ As a note to others
I heard that the newer models had less cyclone fans and a better cooling system. The internals change without announcement so its entirely up to luck if you have it. The Jasper was seen in september though and if you buy from a shop, 99% of the time you’ll get a Jasper with a reduced fan noise.
December 11, 2008 at 7:53 am
Seriously, if I ever wanted to play with friends online, I do it on my PC.
December 11, 2008 at 10:45 am
360 fanboy. Typical.
Enjoy your occasional taste of JRPG (FF XIII -but wait, no FF XIII Versus on 360, oops; Tales of Vesperia) when people are busy playing Valkyria Chronicles, other Tales games (yeah, you Can play PS2 games with the right models), MGS4 (indispensable for the long-time fans), etc.
You know, many JRPG games are only available on Sony’s consoles (being Japanese and all). Maybe you just want to blast some aliens and don’t care about such games, I do. Just stop behaving like a 13-year-old kid on gamespot.
I own both a 360 and a PS3 to prove I have too much money. Joking aside, I just don’t want to miss any great titles. A serious gamer knows not to waste time debunking other platforms (this is what retards do), but to ENJOY THE GAMES, dammit. I’m out.
December 12, 2008 at 12:23 pm
@Loet
i see, so you do like RPG games, so do I. And yes, FFXIII is the traditional RPG style game whilst FFXIIIversus is just a spin off. The fact that little is known about FFXIIIversus just doesn’t make PS3 worth the buy, not till its release however. Consider only the games that have confirmed release dates.
Take note that I have a DS and a PSP and PS2 and these provide much better rpg games than a PS3. MSG4 is solid, true, but one game isn’t worth it boy.
I have both the xbox and PS2, i would definitely say the PS2 beats the xbox hands down. I am definitely not a supporter of Microsoft or Xbox even, but for the 360 vs the PS3, only 1 question remains, why pay more for less games. If the PS3 can deliver more games(and exclusives) then it will be a worthy buy.
Don’t get me wrong, i don’t support 360 all the time, i love the Wii, i love raving rabbids(which sucked on the 360), and it does perform better than the 360 in its own way, just not graphics and precision. I am not a fucking Wii or 360 fanboy, cuz if i were to do so, then the review would skew to the 360. There were no grounds for Wii to compete on, due to its difference and uniqueness.
Neither am I a PS3 hater. If the PS3 delivered more games and prove its strength in graphics worthy of the difference in price of the other two consoles, then i have no qualms.
http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6201700/index.html
read what the comments are in relation to graphics. Majority of people like the 360 better. Period! This is not about having both, its about choosing one. And MOST people choose the 360. Do a count and tabulate the results. An empty promise was given that blue ray would perform 10000 times better than HD DVD. No such thing ever happened. They broken their promise once, what makes you think they won’t do so again.
As microsoft buys more games from other consoles, i won’t be surprised if many more games are lost in the ‘exclusive PS3′ list.
Learn ur facts dude, enjoy ur games. True that many JRPG are going to be released exclusively on the PS3 but the FFXIII and Tekken 6 are just starts of JRPGs being imported over. Be patient.
I sense a lot of impulse in your answers, perhaps you should stop behaving like a 13 year old retard and label others as fanboys when you are one yourself. LOL. Typical
December 12, 2008 at 8:34 pm
For your information, Fallout 3 sucks on both 360 and PS3 (it looks best on PC for some reason). This doesn’t apply to every game in existence.
What bugs me is how hypocritical you are. You call people who buy PS3 “stupid crap”, FF fans “stupid fanboys”; believe little is known about FF XIII Versus (you have either never been to E3 or never paid attention at all), present what you call “the best music ever”, employ argumentum ad populum (sorry, I don’t care if so many gamers without a technical background claim games look better on 360, because for all you know, hardly any games have been able to fully display the capabilities of PS3, which would logically be better than 360; that’s another way to look at the future).
Yet later, you claim you don’t hate PS3, link to a faulty example, try to make your tone less subjective (probably too late) while still meaning the same thing , and (the nicest touch of all) you call me a typical 13-year-old retard who labels others as fanboys just to seize the moral high ground.
December 12, 2008 at 10:29 pm
@loet
Stop digging your grave:
Quote: “because for all you know, hardly any games have been able to fully display the capabilities of PS3,”
<<so are we just wasting our money? You said it yourself. PS3 is more than twice as much as a 360! It doesn’t perform twice or even, as good as the 360 in terms of gaming. Media, yes, it is superior, but this thread rates it as a gaming console. Console war it is, not player war. TYVM.
Future yes, blue ray is good, but not ps3, ps3 should aim for higher standards than it is producing atm. so thumbs down dude.
hypocritical no, theoretically. People who buy PS3s are stupid crap. But I’m not a PS3 hater and will write good comments if it FUCKING PRODUCES GOOD ENOUGH RESULTS. Sadly it doesn’t… Sadly, you don’t too, especially in the field known as reasoning. It is an opinion and blogging is about opinions, no? Fanboy…
Xenogears<<– best rpg ever, doesn’t need blue ray to play.
I didn’t say PS3 can’t redeem itself, but for now, its shit, and everyone knows that it’ll continue to be shit if it carries down the same path. Why buy the PS3? (unless you already have wii and 360 and have loads of spare cash lying about.)
here’s some stuff that i would recommend you read:

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/01/09/why-are-ps3s-sitting-on-shelves-well-duh/
Read the last two. What bothers me most is that PS3 doesn’t fucking get more games. Compliance and humility is what I look in a good console maker.
Microsoft has no humility, but at least it has compliance and released the arcade, premium and ultimate systems compared to the pro system in the past which often overheated.
PS3, has… a wee bit of humility. compliance… we’ll have to wait huh? How long!?
