NOOOO!!!! SOMETHING HAPPENED!!!!

DAMN YOU KAWAMORI! LOLOLOL!!! What a great way to crack us up by shoving the pineapple myth in our face. When I saw the frightened face of the mechanic tending to the cockpit of Ozma’s Valkyrie, it made me feel the approach of the inevitable especially with all the talk about pineapple cake. That was some nasty tease I have to say. But I believe there are a few reasons why Ozma’s survived his close brush with death.

1. PINEAPPLE CAKE. NOT PINEAPPLE SALAD.
2. Basara’s music has infused him with some form of plot armor so it requires a ridiculous reason to get Ozma killed.
3. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann came after SDF Macross and before Macross Frontier.
4. He has yet to propose to Cathy.
5. Kawamori reads animeblogs.

On a more serious note, the show only has nine more episodes (assuming Macross Frontier is going to be twenty six episodes long) to work on the love triangle and other aspects of the story. It is worrying that with only a few episodes left, we might not get a convincing conclusion to satisfy us all. What SDF Macross did that made it a great show is that it was capable of interweaving the various subplots together in a comfortable way to fit neatly into the big picture. While I am sure that the execution of Macross Frontier would do a somewhat reasonable job in concluding the ‘big picture’ about the Vajras, it is the little details like the romance that require more effort.

Alright then, I shall go back to laughing. Damn you Kawamori!
