OH MY GOODNESS. OUR GENDERBENDING HARUHI PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED

I have shed over 9000 gallons of tears. Sniff.

So it is true? Persistent wishing might end up as a reality. I will just keep this short and simple- Kyoani is doing a special DVD as display of appreciation for all the support fans have been giving for the studio and the anime Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu.

Special DVD? Must be a piece of crap you say. I was at a work office while reading some anime related news on a Chinese website and it offered some information regarding the contents of this DVD.

1. An intimate look into the makings of SHnY. It is not a standard ‘The Makings of XXXXX’ as the scenes were taken from an employee himself. They are more like humourous recaps of the Kyoani journey, featuring the hardworking staff that brought us that 2006 hit.
2. Scrapped songs for the show and music videos of previous versions of God Knows before it became what we know it to be.
3. The artist, Noizi Ito, shares some of her previous designs for the main characters of the novel.
4. A 20 min video of the remake of that mind boggling first episode of SHnY with GENDERBENDING.

The website that I was surfing says that there is actually a little postcard in the July edition of Newtype that requires one to fill up and send to the studio. That is the only way one can obtain the DVD. That piece of news really startled me because I never actually noticed it. Browsing through my own copy of July’s Newtype, I found that postcard and it means the Chinese website was not spewing nonsense. Well, the sad thing is that the DVD can only be mailed to addresses within Japan.

So now you get my point? Kyoani is actually gonna please the fans by doing a short video of everything genderbended! I was searching hard and managed to find this short snippet of the DVD on youtube. And it made me squeal in delight to see that Itsuko is now the bunny girl waitress from the future and Kyonko is the bad witch alien.

By now I am sure you are demanding for proof. I am still trying to search for the url of that Chinese website since I came across it while at work. When I get a scan of that postcard, I will upload it onto this post as an update. Here is the youtube link, enjoy real animated Kyonko.
