Well summer is here and most of you folks are probably having a long vacation. Are you getting a part time job? Are you producing carbon dioxide full time in your parents’ basement? But what we would like to know are the shows from the new season that are on your to-watch-list.

Also, we shall provide an update on the shows we have been following. Did we like them? Did we drop one or two?

The Sojourner’s Side for Spring Season

Code Geass, Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: Dude. This is Code Geass we are talking about! I simply cannot imagine a life without it. No anime of the current season is capable of beating this baby in terms of its outrageously flamboyant story and finally they are starting to shed some light about the Cult of Geass.

The new OP sequence shows a spaceship so I guess we will have a R3? Not that I am complaining though.

Itazura Na Kiss

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: I have to confess that I am an episode or two behind but I do not have the intention of dropping this one. The interaction between Kotoko and *oh shit I forgot his name* is still very fun to watch.

Macross Frontier

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: After viewing the first five episodes of Macross Frontier, I knew this was going to be a favourite. And as a fan who has seen the original Macross, I have to say that Frontier is a worthy successor of SDF Macross. What has made this show so enjoyable so far is its easy going nature that does not attempt to drag you forcefully with its progress. It has a ‘feel good’ feeling to it.

Many fans have stated their allegiance clearly, and they are either in the Sheryl faction or the Ranka one. While I have to come to adore Ranka greatly, I make my stand clear that I would like to see a SherylXAlto ending due my own reasons.

Kaiba

Status: [EDIT, Thx Kitsune] Ongoing and still watching

Comments: However, I am still stuck at episode 5 but no way will I drop this. Episode 4 simply blew me away and got me thinking a lot. I shall finish this show and I have a feeling that I might end up declaring it being the best show of the spring season 2008.

Note that Code Geass R2 is the BEST show and it is different from being a ‘best show’.

Kurenai

Status: Broadcast completed but…

Comments: OOPS. I have not gone beyond the first episode because I allocated my time in watching Nanoha StrikerS instead. And that is another story to tell.

The Daughter/Maiden of Twenty Faces

Status: Broadcast completed but…

Comments: OOPS. Same thing but I am never gonna give it up because its not-so-fancy first episode was mysteriously alluring to me and it might just be another good show.

Tohshokan Sensou

Status: Dropped

Comments: Alright I never even started in the first place. It is a sad thing because my Real Life is somewhat demanding more from me and I had to give it up because I had already seen the first few episodes of the other shows while I had yet to start on Tohshokan Sensou back then.

The P-Meister’s Side for Spring Season

Soul Eater

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: The beautiful animation and cool fighting moves just keeps urging me to watch more. However, a lack of pantsu and ecchi is starting to disappoint me, unlike the first few episodes. I sense that the story may turn bad, but for now, its good and enjoyable. I wish Excalibur will come out soon.

Macross Frontier

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: Well, this would be my one of my favourite shows despite the fact that I have forgotten what happened in the first Macross. The nice 3d animations and battle scenes as well as its cast of characters make this a must watch. I am not up to date with the latest episodes due to the exam period and other real life matters. However it won’t be long before I’m right in front.

As for Sheryl or Ranka, I choose Sheryl. Lets just say i prefer pink to green.

To Love Ru

Status: Ongoing and still watching

Comments: Uh… there’s no particular reason why I’m following this, except for a game I’m playing. That is not the only TLR game I’m playing. Watching it gives me pleasant dreams somehow. Also it doesn’t require much brains, has constant parody humour and is a wonderful relaxing cum ecchi anime to enjoy and every moment of watching it reminds me of the intense pleasure i get when playing the game, I AM NOT A PERVERT!!. << do not highlight

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki

Status: Lagged

Comments: I wanted to watch this episode by episode but looks like I’m gonna marathon it during summer. I will probably be giving it an end term review. However, whether I drop this depends on the summer season. If i pick up 2 or more anime in the summer season, be sure I’ll drop this.

Vampire Knight

Status: Broadcast completed but…

Comments: I know this is a good anime but I decided to spread my time to blog about DS games instead. I finish as I have an anime friend who wants to watch with me. Its not fun to watch alone so this will wait. Also I won’t be giving a review on it as it will be overdue.

Kurenai

Status: Broadcast completed but…

Comments: OOPS. I have not gone beyond the first episode because I allocated my time in listening to Sojourner asking me to watch Nanoha. Jk, I’ll be watching Nanoha once I think I’m done with my DS. I will watch this if Sojourner recommends it.

Amatsuki

Status: Dropped

Comments: I TRIED SUBBING IT. 6 hours for one fansub with the help of a dictionary and many other tools. *sigh* I rather fap. Anyway, I liked this series, but there’s just too much talking and thus too much subbing to do. Sorry. Even if fansubs were released, I will watch it but not review it.

The Sojourner: The DS has been consuming a lot of your free time huh? Considering the fact that you are having a very long summer break. But I would suggest you work on Macross Frontier because to be stuck at Episode 5 is a travesty! That said, I deserve to be shot as well since I am still at the 5th episode of Kaiba.

The Sojourner’s Side for Summer Season

Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu: Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu is about a boy stumblng upon the secret of the most popular girl in his school. Nogizaka Haruka is a closet fan of the otaku culture and this is how their friendship begins.

Obviously, this show is trying to gratify anime fans and otakus. I am curious and let us see where this show will take us to.

Strike Witches: Blatant galore of fetishes, explosions and allusions to WWII. This might just be half as good as Nanoha A’s. I say aye.

Mahou Tsukai Ni Taisetsu Na Koto, Natsu No Sora: Because I am a fan of the original Mahou Tsukai Ni Taisetsu Na Koto, I will definitely follow this sequel.

The P-Meister’s Side for Summer Season

Note: I am going to state 5 anime here but I will most probably only choose 2 of the better ones. In addition to the 3 anime above, that makes 5. =) I might consider taking up more after I return from my Germany trip. Also whatever Sojourner recommends, I’ll watch.

Koihime Musou: Harem and stuff, good for the eyes, bad for the heart. This ancient setting would perhaps fufill what i have missed in Amatsuki… in a different way of course. This is probably the ONLY one i’m really looking forward to.

Detroit Metal City: I own an electric guitar but am a terrible player. My interest still remains however and I hope this heavy metalness can inspire my hidden musical talent.

Strike Witches: WW2 action with lolis.

Birdy the Mighty Decode: Bad english, probably a bad anime as well. What drew me is the cover. 90% chance I’m going to drop it.

Ultraviolet: Code 044: House of the Dead anyone? I miss some bang bang action. *update*: 99% i’m gonna drop this cuz it isn’t that good.

Not to forget Batman, though i won’t say its a summer anime. Watching it as you read.
