Stabbings at Akihabara

When I first saw the news, I heard 7 people died and somebody had gone to Akihabara for the sake of killing anyone. Scotland’s news didn’t show much so I went online to enquire more. Further reading showed he used both a truck and a knife to do his dirty work. Why did he do so? And why Akihabara? He doesn’t even stay near there.

“I came to Akihabara to kill people. I am tired of the world. Anyone was OK. I came alone.” – Tomohiro Kato, aged 25

In a place where crime is rare, this is very saddening. Nobody would have expected this. Those people could have been fathers, mothers, brothers or sisters.

Suspect’s Information

Weapon: Truck and Camping Knife

Purpose: Kill people at random

History: Poor family background, had an abusive father.

Apparently he had posted this on 2-chan boards before.

My thoughts

Sometimes I wonder how can our society have such people, but they do. Why do we have such wierdos in the society? Stress? Still, its not a valid excuse to go stabbing people. No one would sympathise with him and NO ONE SHOULD do so. This would remain his as his fault, but is it our fault? Legally, no. But remember that if the society is more sensitive to people’s emotions, these events could have been avoided. We can all play a part.

I felt really disturbed by this, and I know many of you are upset or angry. I’ve read many other blogs and I’m pretty displeased to see swearing and cursing over something such as this. To everyone who reads this blog, let your heart not anger and be upset no longer. May the peace of God fill you.

 Peace I leave with you,

my peace I give unto you:

not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled,

neither let it be afraid. -John 14:27
