In response to the video released, the P-Meister has something to say!! I’m not trying to troll or anything but such a statement can be done by an elementary school student. How old are you Otaking? 10?
It is the responsibility of the fans to find the fansubs that suits them. To prove that there are good fansubs available, here is an example of a fansub of an ongoing series, my favourite! Soul Eater!! (consist of both intro and music!)
Note that the fansubs didn’t cover any part of the image during the music at all. Who is this Otaking, more like Otardking. His argument is downright retarded and has no value for appraisal.
1) Japanese anime fans should know what honorifics are. FANsubs are for FANS, made by FANS! not some typical couch potato who don’t give a shit about japanese culture and watch e news all the time.
2) There are more than 1 fansub groups for each anime, so we can choose which fansubs we like. The fact that he only chose the worse ones shows the one-sidedness and his inability to generate a proper statement. Talk about professionalism!
3) Nobody pays fansubbers, so go eat shit and die Otardking! Fansubbers work for free and you dare talk bad about them? One day u might piss them off and we won’t get any free subs anymore.
4) I have seen anime that explained ‘boku’ when it is used intentionally/in the wrong location. Hence his point that fansubs don’t translate ‘boku’ is also one that is shallow and not sufficient.
5) 3ple subtitles in translation in openings can be concise, as seen in his video, and is useful for fans to learn the song, and recognise Japanese words. Anime fans should be able to recognise several hiragana, if not katakana and kanji characters. Again, fansubs are for fans! Not the average anime Joe!
6) You think anime fans who don’t buy the DVD and download free fansubs would care about credits? LULz. Retard!
Otardking should rot in hell for wasting my time watching his tarded video of him acting as a tard. That dinosaur-aged p3ni5, his internet is prolly still dial up and he can’t download fansubs fast enough. Did he really spend half a year to do that? More like spend half a year trying to upload it on youtube. Game over. Period!
Question of the day: Is watching ecchi scenes on school girl minors (under 16) against the law?
Answer: No, unless you watch it on MS-DOS pixels like Otaking. 8 by 8 px resolution.

Wow. I never knew you could troll.
JUST AS 計画. kekekekekeke….

ID Sojourner-> I can troll, but i’m not a troll. Just like a superhero or an antibody. Antibodies kill viruses which kill humans. I troll people who troll. ;P Can’t expect less from the P-Meister.

Lol teh intarnet is clearly serious business, way to go.
May 31, 2008 at 12:34 pm
^.^ But you still end off with an “ecchi topic for the day”.

Just an update. I posted a link to this anGARy post on the Animesuki thread and Otaking assumed that it was me who did this troll post so he messaged me on Animesuki Forum instead of posting here. Allow me to relay the message as you, The P-Meister, are its intended receipient.
[Wow. You're a pretty angry fellow aren't you?
Well, no hard feelings. I'm sure under normal circumstances we could sit down and have a beer and get along quite well, but as always internet politics and calling people "fags" and "tards" gets in the way of that.
I'm sorry you feel that fansubs are only for a small elite group who already speak Japanese. If that were so I'd never have gotten into anime back in the day. I'd suggest you take a look at The Enemy's The Pirates subs by Anime Classic or somesuch to see just how enjoyable it is to watch an anime without any screen clutter or karaoke, but I imagine you'd just call me a "troll" for suggesting such a think.
Again, I wish you the best and hope you have a pretty good week overall.]

Its odd, why didn’t you comment on the blog yourself? Not like you’ll read my reply even I did, but oh well, you must be ID Sojourner impersonating the Otardking himself or else Sojourner. How many times have I told you not to use such ways to attract views. Nevertheless, for the sake of the P-Meister’s integrity, I will reply to you.
Firstly, I’m not an angry person, the tag trolling says so, its done on purpose. If you’ve done critical appraisals before, you should already know that one sided statements will always receive criticisms, which apparently you did in your video, can’t blame me. I’m glad that you understand internet politics. Its odd tho that you took half a year to do it. LULz.
Secondly, fansubs are not for an elite group of people who already speak japanese, but for fans who watch anime often. Honorifics are easy to understand and with the help of a concise explaination the first time, fans would be able to get a good grasp by the second or third series they watch.
Anime consist of more adult themes and thats what makes it different than cartoon, not for nine year olds, people of mature age tend to have an inquisitive mind, unless they don’t use their heads of course.
Besides, its the community that demanded for subs to be done this way. I’m not talking about the bolded colourful cluutered one piece shit. Regular fansubs you get are ok.
Also, adding subs despite speaking English in the video contradicts yourself as it is the same as unnecessary fansub explaination.
Talking about professional, have you ever heard of XEDO(backwards)? ‘Professional’ companies like those that made worse mistakes than that of fansubs. There are bad ‘professional’ companies and good ones as well, the same goes with fansubs, there are good ones and bad ones.
Instead of stating that fact and advising people to seek better fansubs, you one sidedly blamed fansubbers of the current age. That shows what kind of attitude you have, you’re mocking the current fansubbers.
I shan’t waste my time to further reveal your weakness in your video and embarrass you, perhaps if you REALLY are Otaking, come in for a drink at the Blue Fox Alley, I promise you intelligent conversations and no thrash talking.
May 31, 2008 at 8:40 pm
Dude. I can show you the print screen picture of his private message on Animesuki. And I do not think he will bother replying to you.
May 31, 2008 at 8:53 pm
yep i know, prolly cuz he dunno how to read tags and use the comments function. Thats why he had to send it all the way to you. Poor Netscape Explorer. Ah… the old days… Lulz!

Plan通りdesu!
May 31, 2008 at 10:34 pm
The only no-no was covering the Japanese lyrics with romaji (unless it was originally softsubbed, then it’s OK). ^^;
May 31, 2008 at 11:01 pm
ちょw –> Yes yes… according to keikaku
Tofusensei –> The RAW opening came with the japanese lyrics. The fansubbers were prolly in a rush. AEN did better tho.
Additional notes:
Considering we can HEAR what buki and shokunin in the actual convo pretty clearly in the video, i think its ok to sub them, considering its the first episode.
Many other fansubs just called them Weapons and Technicians, but shokunin can mean artisans/craftsman/mechanic and thus the word itself should be a better translation. Later we know that these people don’t just ‘use’ weapons but create them, in the case of Maka’s mother.

What fansub is this? Since it’s clearly someone who did a good job stealing/using/borrowing A-E&Saizen’s script.
June 1, 2008 at 8:18 pm
I am picky with my fan-sub watching. One True Tears fansub I watched was so out of sync Noe’s words were coming out of a boy’s mouth. I kid you not. But I looked long and hard to find a better one.
Kaiba is an example of an Anime with universal appeal, hence no need to have unnecessary Japanese honorifics untranslated, as it is set on another world that isn’t Japan. I like this series a lot because it’s not only a good Anime but the fansub doesn’t suck.

Juggen –> prolly some freelancer? he didn’t advertise.
newgeekphilosopher -> Most of the time, big recognised fansub groups would sub properly. Its just whether you know where to get them or not. Just by going to http://www.truveo.com, you can stream all the different videos without huge downloads and see which fansub does better. You can then download the fansub from their respective sites. =) I should prolly do a post about choosing fansubs soon.

There’s always AniDB. Only useful there is the comments, though, since ratings are usually off.
June 2, 2008 at 7:14 am
>>There are more than 1 fansub groups for each anime, so we can choose which fansubs we like.
Hey dude fuck you only one group subbed Kaiji and Bartender and Hayate and Akagi and a ton of other shows that only I watch >:(
June 2, 2008 at 8:01 am
wildarmsheero –> did Traid do a bad job? thats a pity.
Kaiji ended in recent April no? Besides that, the other anime you mentioned had more than 1 fansub group.
Bartender had Conclave, Ideology, Lunar anime and Studio Adtrw subbing it. Thats 4 fansub groups.
Hayate no Gotoku on the other hand had Philantrophy fansubs, eclipse and ss, utsukushii studio and state two squad subbing it, which makes it 4 fansub groups.
That leaves only Akagi, which like Kaiji also had only Traid fansubbing it. Well thats too bad, i don’t think enough people were aware of how fun mahjong is, or didn’t think mahjong would fit into anime.
(out of point information: IMHO, Japanese rules for mahjong suck, the game can’t end properly due to 0 pts, even japanese players dislike the rule and it screws up DS games where that rule can’t be removed, meh!)
Anyway, if there were enough people anticipating/demanding for fansubs, i’m sure there’ll be more fansubs. Besides the major fansub groups, there may also be private free lance subbers who don’t leave initials after subbing, u may find video on truveo or youtube. Still, i didn’t think traid did a particularly bad job for you to need to find another.
BFA fansubs anyone? =)
June 2, 2008 at 8:09 am
wah why did you link me to this shitty blog entry, i wasted like 10 seconds* of my life and i want them back
*= not including the time spent writing this
June 2, 2008 at 8:11 am
misuzu –> do u want 10 seconds special service by the P-Meister? or would u wish the other author of the blog, the uber hot babe Sojourner to give it to you.
June 2, 2008 at 8:50 am
Actually 4 groups started doing Hayate but we were the only group to continue doing it until it was finished, so in reality his comment about how only 1 group subbed Hayate no Gotoku is not “wrong.”
Maybe we’ll be the only one to finish Hayate season 2 again who knows?
June 2, 2008 at 8:56 am
ADTRW only did like two eps of Bartender and I think Lunar is the only group that finished it.
Triad is like really good but they’re slow sometimes.
June 2, 2008 at 10:23 am
Rina and wildarmsheero –> apologies, my mistake… only ss and eclipse finished hayate and only lunar anime finished bartender. I KNOW WHY!! they gave up because they know they’ll lose to traid and lunar anime anyway… kekeke, try not subbing it rina, we may get funny subs, JUST AS KEIKAKU! (NOTE: Keikaku means planned.)
