MONSTER KILL!!

OH YEAH! I GET TO TALK ABOUT DIGIMON BECAUSE I HAS THE BLOG!!!11!!!

Greetings to you, lesser humans, from the great P-Meister!! Sadly, I am the one who’s doing this post, so listen up, as the P-Meister never forgives those who never listen!!

Braving the sea of anime, I found one and decided to give a review for you folks. It is none other than Digimon savers.

Digimon Savers

Why digimon all of a sudden?! Well, IMHO, Digimon has an appealing and nice storyline, and the reason for me to write a review is because digimon and pokemon like animes have the tendency to be left out. It is impossible for somebody to watch every anime release unless he doesn’t have a life. The P-Meister believe digimon is underrated and deserves a review and some attention. Whatever the P-Meister says is true, so you better take this seriously!! This can differentiate you from a plain narutard to a true anime appreciater.

Introduction

Digimon Savers, released from April 2, 2006 – March 25, 2007, the latest of the digimon series and like all digimon series, is unique and in many ways different. I will start with a general introduction of the storyline. The problem starts with monsters known as digimon entering the human world while an organisation, called DATS stops these problems. They even erase memories. I know… MIB! RIPOFF!!

The first episode explores one of this cases, where Agumon(yellow colour lizard above), a digimon, runs from the DATS station(like a police station for digimon). The main character, Daimon Masaru however befriends this digimon by fighting with it with bare fists, eventually becoming good friends with it. Both of them have similar characters, huge appetites and loads of stupidity in their brain.

Artwork

The character art is different than pokemon and other versions of digimon as they aren’t drawn as short midgety children. Although the main characters are about 14 years of age only, they don’t look too kiddy and place the characters in a ‘working’ environment, as members of DATS. Think of them as MIB agents.

What is most brilliant about ALL Digimon series is the digimon of course! Digimon artwork does not resist making monsters looking scary and harmful to young kids. The artwork for digimon surpasses that of many monster animes. From vicious powerful looking giant dragons like Rise Greymon to the cute and pretty Lilamon. (I love digimon artwork, like Angewomon, but thats another story *fap fap fap*)

Main Characters

Like many animation, digimon consists of well planned characters, especially the male protagonist(Daimon Masaru as described above) and the anti-hero, Touma Norrstein! Sadly, our hero is a total retard.

The anti-hero is uber cool and admired by women, similar to Naruto and Slamdunk. Fortunately, our anti-hero is not introverted and antisocial. He emphasises on heavy planning and teamwork. He got his medical degree at 13 years of age! Although he’s a very successful digimon tamer, he learns that power through planning has its limits and doesn’t work all the time, thanks to Daimon spoiling his plans all the time. His digimon is an obedient pet dog who calls him ‘Master!’ all the time.

The female protagonist, Yoshino Fujieda, as revealed by her digimon is a messy girl who cannot be bothered to tidy her room[my type, mess is something geniuses like the P-Meister generates]. She also has quite a monotone voice, which makes her sound quite cute. Her digimon however is weak and loses most of the fights. However, as soon as it evolves past its champion level and onwards, she has quite beautiful and sexy forms. One of the attacks of the ultimate level from is forbidden temptation, where the clothes of the digimon disappears and a bright blinding light is shot at the enemies.(You don’t get to see much because of the bright blinding light. P-Meister is sad!)

Sound/Voice acting

This is one of the best points in digimon as a lot of effort can be seen in the voice acting. Each evolution form of each digimon has different voices, however, they manage to preserve the ‘character’ and uniqueness of that particular digimon. Thats 4 forms each digimon and for 4 main digimon characters, its 16 separate voice actors. Brilliantly done!

Besides voice acting, good opening and ending themes give life to the anime. Let yourselves be awed by the mv on youtube!

About the BBEG(big bad evil guy)

The bad guy, Yggdrasil is the sovereign/god of the digital world. Due to the actions of a particular human, the digimon world and the human world are about to be destroyed. In order to save the digital world, he goes to destroy the human world, blaming on the fact that the problem was caused by humans in the first place. In certain points of view, his actions can be deemed as right. However, eventually, he understoods his mistakes and gives a chance to humans. He cannot be called evil simply but is just simply misguided with good intentions. (The P-Meister like stories where the bad guy isn’t just one evil freak)

Background, side stories and romance

Digimon has well developed plots and each character has their own unique story. These are explored as part of the main storyline and have quite a lot of significance to why they joined DATS. The background reveals a side of the characters which we never seen before and is actually quite saddening. The P-Meister has no time to describe it, so watch it yourself.

Romance on the contrary, is barely explored. To those romance freaks out there… too bad. However, I felt that its a good thing as doing so might spoil the atmosphere of the story.

Conclusion

Unlike pokemon, digimon is not overcommercialised and its storyline and artwork is original and different. It stands out as a refreshing anime to watch after you get bored of all the comedy-type or swashbuckling-like animes.Rise Greymon

Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as the P-Meister and his pet P-Meistermon

does!

  • GANTZ! the MANZ!

cause kids like digi and poke, that’s why people tend to put these two into the kiddy category? dunnoe.

  • I haven’t taken a look at this season, but Digimon Tamers always has a fond place in my heart. :P

  • The first Digimon series is still the best. Everything after it sucks.

  • I agree with double to an extent. I enjoyed the first series of Digimon but the plot either becomes confusing and less original with the many seasons that come after it. Likewise, same for Pokemon, we’re at Pokemon what and number what Pokemon now? Geez…I lost track.

  • The first is still my favourite. Taiichi (is that how his name is spelt?) was so GAR to me back then.
